About Giles Norbury
Giles Norbury, BA D.Hyp D.Nlp GQHP GH Reg (MHS)
My introduction to hypnotherapy came from having been a smoker. A single two hour session put an abrupt end to 15 years of the habit.
Since qualifying as a hypnotherapist, I have been able to make other positive changes to my own life as well as helping other people.
My work covers all areas of hypnotherapy, but I focus on areas less commonly treated by other hypnotherapists. This includes pain management, tinnitus and IBS.
For me, building rapport and a trusting relationship with my clients is the essential ingredient of a successful outcome. Listening is the bedrock of successful therapy.
I hold Diplomas in Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP and CBT. I am also registered with the following professional bodies:
- National Hypnotherapy Society
- General Hypnotherapy Standards Council & Register
- Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
My primary concern is always patient welfare and I strive to provide the best experience for my clients as I can. To this end, I encourage you to discuss with me any concerns that may arise, however small, and also welcome feedback.
I work in accordance with the regulations of the organisations listed above, which are listed on their websites.
All knowledge and information concerning my patients is held in the strictest confidence and I will not tell anyone that you are my client unless we have discussed it and you have authorised me to do so. Under certain circumstances I may, however, be obliged to disclose information by law. This may be, for example, where there is the possibility of harm, either to yourself or others.
At the start of therapy, I will need to ask for your full contact details as well as those of your GP and next of kin. I will also ask for permission to contact your GP should it be appropriate to do so.
Scope of Practice
As a hypnotherapist, my role is to help you overcome everyday concerns using hypnosis. I am not able to diagnose, treat or cure and physical or mental illness. I am also not able to prescribe medication or alter the quantity prescribed by your doctor. When appropriate, I recommend you discuss treatment with your doctor and for certain conditions, I will not be able to help without their written consent, beyond general relaxation.
I hold full professional & public liability insurance.
